Happy Wednesday!!! I can’t believe it’s almost May… this Spring has been going by SO fast.
A little personal update is that I finished my second semester at Carnegie Mellon University this past week, so I’ve successfully finished the entire first year of my M.Mus degree! This year was so transformative for my flute playing and I’m already looking forward to getting back to school in August. This Summer, I have the most amazing trip lined up to study with some of my flute heroes over in Europe, and I CAN’T WAIT to share all of my practice notes from my lessons and practice sessions in Europe with you. But, that’s not until June… for now, we have tons of excerpt preparation, concerto performance preparation, and FUNDAMENTALS to do.
On top of bringing you along through my Summer practice (how it’s structured, what I’m working on, how I stay motivated, etc.,) I’m going to be sharing notes from previous private lessons that I haven’t shared with you yet. It will be super illuminating for me to go back through these notes to see what I was struggling with from August-December 2024, and what has improved (and what I’m still tripping over…).
For now, let’s get into my lesson notes on Sancan Sonatine.
